Our EDI Journey
At ExceptionalHome, we strive to create a work environment that celebrates cultures, genders, ethnicities, and self-identities - one that is welcoming, accepting, and engaging. Our beliefs on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion are deeply embedded in our culture and fostered by our entire team, no matter the level. We take ownership of continuously improving this journey, so that every person is made to feel valued, respected, seen, and heard. To achieve this, we've implemented an EDI strategy that stretches far and wide to encompass our daily work and practices. This is an ongoing project that requires everyone's active participation, and is one that we truly believe in. We will persistently challenge ourselves to be even more inclusive, to continue our journey and reach our goal of a diverse and equitable workplace.
We encourage you to spend a few minutes learning about our culture, and plans for the future of our EDI journey.
We are committed to working towards making our company a place where all team members feel accepted, supported, and valued. Our commitment to creating an equitable, diverse and inclusive environment is a priority and we strive to evolve it every day.
Increase BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and underrepresented groups’ representation at all levels of our company.
Our commitment to inclusion is essential to achieving our business and community goals. Securing true representation across all aspects of the organization will be essential to ensure that our culture flourishes. To ensure full representation and fairness, we have established standards for our team, as well as extended leadership teams. Hiring decisions are expanded to make us a go-to destination for underrepresented and historically excluded people within the world of design, tech and beyond. With these efforts in place, we are able to foster an equitable, diverse culture that respectfully reflects the world around us.
We continue to provide EDI education throughout the organization, equipping our leaders with the resources and knowledge they need to inform their management styles and business decisions that shape our company culture. We budget specifically for EDI Learning and Development and hold EDI-focused reviews with our leadership.
We recognize, promote and compensate our team members equitably, and we administer benefits that focus on their well-being as our top priority in decision-making. We strive to create a work environment free from underlying structures and preconceived notions of dominant culture. We use a framework and tools to inform our organizational change processes and ensure that all our team members have equitable access and opportunity.
We’ll use our voice, resources, and empowered doers to create more inclusive communities.
